Reporting Requirements for Communicable Diseases in Arizona-->
Immunizations are often a required component when children enter childhood daycare/education programs. Since diseases may also be spread through the respiratory tract, by fecal-oral transmission, direct contact, or blood contact, hand-washing, as well as cleaning and disinfecting areas are also important for preventing the spread of disease. These are important habits that ought to be implemented in any setting, especially when dealing with children.
There are certain illnesses that are required to be reported. Some of the reasons for these needing to be reported are to help maintain public health, to help prevent the spread of the disease, provide effective treatment, develop policies, and allocate resources. In a school, childcare establishment, or shelter, the requirements are as followed: |
Which diseases must be reported?
Certain diseases need to be reported withing 24 hours of detecting a case.
